I wanted to create a beautiful set of side tables "in the round" that would be statement pieces from a 360 degree view.
The round shape offers dramatic interior space while still being easy to navigate around. It's shape and moulded edges are wonderful for houses with small children, as well, with no sharp angles to run into.
The incredible grain is from crotch mahogany (the 'crux' of where a mahogany tree branch is weighted against the base trunk) and it is finished to an incredible satiny touch.
The interior is made with maple to lighten the inside space, with a movable shelf and cutaway front for flexible and tall storage options. This set was featured at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show and the American Craft Council show.
