I wanted to take the beautiful, traditional design aesthetic of Japanese tansu and translate that into a rustic, but elegant version suited for daily use. The use of Pacific yew and walnut helped me to accomplish that 'rustic elegance'.

The piece is constructed using no-nail technqiues, with hand cut dove-tails and hidden German hardware. The drawers have magnetic closes etc.
